Data logs on my car needed!

Hello everyone,
I'm need of someone who has an OBD2 compliant program like freescan or datamaster to get A/F ratios to send to Brian Herter. I wanted to know if anyone is in the NJ area and would be able to do something like that, because I think my car is running a bit rich. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Dan:

Freescan and DataMaster are OBD-I. You need AutoTap for OBD-II.

The software will not show you A/F ratio. It will enable to see the "target" A/F ratio, but that's just what the program is trying to achieve. There is no feedback as to the actual A/F ratio, except the output signals from the stock narrow-band O2 sensors, and they aren't very accurate at anything other than 14.7:1...... not the kind of A/F ratio you are looking at for max HP/torque. Did they specifically ask you for that kind of data?

Fred,
Someone on the NJFBOA board said it will only give 'command' A/F ratios in other words what the computer is programmed to do. I think the car is running a bit rich, I love the tune overall, but I don't want to foul any of the plugs either. Bryan wants me to record data logs (guess I need auto tap then) and get an A/F ratio is real time while the car is running and driving so he could reprogram the car so it won't run too rich anymore. Hope this helps you better understand my situation.

Sincerely,

I have an Actron OBD-II scanner. If all else fails, we could hook it up and write down the O2 readings on a WOT pass.

Fred,
It would save me a 2&1/2 hour ride up to Bryans to get data. Email me at creamsiclez97@yahoo.com and we'll try to set something up if that's okay with you.

Sincerely,
