DART lt1 track times
#31
Lloyd, are there actually 200's for the LT1? I have only seen the 180's, additionally that's all that Dart has on there site. I did see something about the Pro 1 Platinums for LT1 though. Also, what would it cost to have the above mentioned cleanup of the bowls, chambers, and a valve job done?

I dont think Dart has relased the 200cc for lt1's yet. The last time I ordered a set from them in April they were going to run a limited number of 200cc lt1 heads in the next batch. These were going to engine builders and porters before the general public.

finally got the car to the track on a decent night without 80 degree temps.
and got the 2-3 shift working on motor
car went an 11.35 @ 119.94 mph with a 1.57 60ft
it bested a 121mph on motor[ as well
so need less to say i was pretty impressed with the as cast dart lt1 heads
temp was right around 60 degrees and my race weight was 3500lbs[/B]

If the pushrods bored are no further apart, there's really nothing to gain
from it (at least not if you plan on having it ported)

first off the chamber size i believe is 58cc now i didnt cc the heads but that is what all my calculations are based off of
as for the castings well i cant really tell you the differences as i have not had a set of the 180's to look over BUT i will try to describe them for ya
the main things i noticed were that as cast the rocker stud threads already protruded into the intake runner
they provide a semi adjustable guide plate with the heads so that when you set them up you have to adjust it so the exhaust rocker is slightly canted
on the sheet that dart provided with the heads it says the exhaust valv was move 30 thousandths i beileve to provide room for larger ports
another thing i found interesting is that on this particular run it still says 180cc in the casting so that would lead me to believe not too much has changed but again i have no idea how the things are cast so who am i to say
i had my machin shop vacume test them and they were impressed and said most aftermarket heads bleed down and mine were pretty good
also they said while the head surface didnt look as pretty as they would make it look it was none the less flat and true
