What does is mean when I punch throttle...it goes to redline...shifts into 2nd...(A4)...and when it shifts, I see a puff of black smoke out the back of the car (that I can see in the rear view mirror)?

the car drives great...very smooth and strong. It does NOT smoke any other time...idle..acceleration...even moderately heavy acceleration. Just when You punch it as described above. It idles smooth, accelerates smooth, etc...nothing seems to be wrong.

I normally drive the car very easy...it's a 94 with 100,450 original miles on it.

It just goes a little rich when the rpms drop from gear change, nothing to worry about.
