Damaged crank pulley?

Damaged crank pulley?
Two weeks ago I changed my drivebelt and tensioner due to excessive squeaking.
The car ran silently for about 300 miles, but since yesterday the noise is back (a louder chirping sound).
Earlier today I inspected the area and took some videos:
The rubber surrounding the main inner circle of the pulley seems to be damaged

Sound gets worse if I turn the AC on and is present even while accelerating.
What should I replace or rebuild ??

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
If it's shot, I'm guessing it may come off even without that tool.
Is it best to buy a stock crankshaft pulley replacement, or go with an aftermarket aluminium??
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
Do not even run that engine with the pulley like that. Dangerous. Since you have the late model pulley, you can use a conventional balancer puller with the correct size bolts threaded into the small holes on the pulley (that is if it won't come off by hand or a little tapping from the back). A stock one should be fine. The actual GM part is discontinued. You'll have to get one from NAPA or the like.

Easy DIY job? I'll need to buy a 3 jaw puller (or maybe a narrower 2-jaw).

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
I ordered a Dorman replacement from AZ, but it seems they have quality issues (not very good reviews on the net).
I might cancel and get a JEGS or Powerbond balancer instead.
This is not a race car, but I do like to redline when possible
Any other brands to consider (preferably under $200) ?

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
For those interested, there's a balancer made by Professional Products that seems much better quality, pn 80030.
It is heavier than the pioneer 872013 (9 vs 13lbs), but also looks different than OEM.
"This stock damper is designed with a separate bolt-on hub, but comes in three lengths for various applications, Outer ring and hub are bonded together to prevent slippage"
Can anyone recommend this or should I stick to pioneer/precision powerbond balancers?
I've read lighter dampers can marginally improve hp at the expense of lower voltage at idle. How much does the stock balancer weight?

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
IDK about the weight, but as long as it is the same size it won't have any effect on voltage production. The word "marginally" likely describes any HP change. Nothing you will probably notice.

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
The pulley, as originally installed is not an interference fit. I took the bolts off a pulley on a fairly new LT1 - no rust - and the pulley literally fell off. Since the existing pulley is already damaged beyond repair, you don't have to be particularly gentle with it... a pry bar or a mallet will do it.
Listen to Shoebox on the HP and voltage changes.

Re: Damaged crank pulley?
They were probably referring to underdrive pulleys (not worth it on an LT1)
There's a Pioneer Race Balancer which that does not add any underdrive features, pn 872044.
It does require a new hub (872049) that holds it more securely.
My original hub could also be shot, so I might as well do the repair right the first time!
Is it true I need to replace a bolt that's non reusable while installing the hub?
I don't think Pioneer supplies any mounting hardware. I just want to make sure I order everything I'll be needing and pay for shipping once.
Apart from the extra $40 + hub$, are there any cons of running a RACE damper on an engine that's not going to be pushed beyond 6k?

I have read the bolt should be replaced and I did the spacer is no longer available through gm dont lose yours or will have to find specs to replace it. I got the jegs hub because it had the key in it so would have it in proper location and not have to worry since wasn't going back on the same motor.
