Daily driven cam

which one would be best? i know the cc306 is a favorite but i was wondering if there was a better one to go with stock heads for daily driving? My knowledge on cams is very limited but would like to learn more so i wouldnt have to ask these sorta questions.

if you're planning on keeping the stock heads and driving it daily, look no further, the hotcam is for you.

make SURE you get a good pcm tune with it, though.

hotcam = stock gas mileage (well you might lose 1-2mpg), sounds near-stock (thumps away well at idle and has a very nice upper-rpm roar), and will net at least 320rwhp if you've got the basic boltons (exhaust, cai, maybe headers, what not).

I'm looking to run a 12.9 or so if I'm lucky and cut a good 60' next time I go to the track.

With the hotcam, for $450, shipped to your door, you get the cam, stronger valvesprings (which you'll need with a higher lift cam), and the 1.6 roller rockers.

If you get a cc305 with 1.6RRs, you'll get similar lift numbers to the hotcam (with a nod going to the 305), but for the extra cash, its probably wiser to stick to the hotcam, if you're on a budget.

man, I hope I'm not opening a can of worms here - don't want another cc305 vs. hotcam debate.

I believe the comp cams XE224/230 is fastly becoming the new stock head, daily driver favorite on this forum. It is suppose to have loads of midrange power. Do a search on it and you will find plenty of info.
