Cylinder head torque question

When using thinner head gaskets, milled heads, or differnt bolts like ARP's
Do you still go by the torque spec in the book or should u maybe torque the head bolts a little less or more?

Thanks

Re: Cylinder head torque question

Same torque value. What's more critical is the torque technique, chase the threads in the block to make sure they're clean, lube the underside of the head bolt to prevent binding that can cause false torque values, use thread sealer on the bolt threads, torque them down in the proper sequence in 3 passes...first pass 20 ft-lbs, 2nd pass 40 ft-lbs, 3rd pass final torque value ...60/65 ft-lbs.

If using ARP's use their torque spects and their lube. Follow Chevy's torque sequence.
