cutouts dont fit!

Im going to start this wednsaday on my lt's. I ordered two 3" cutouts to go behind each header but they dont fit. Can the exhaust shop expand the pipe to make it fit. It's barely off like less than 1/2". Im getting the shop to fab up a custom ory anyway so will they be able to do it?

Thanks
Josh

Are you sure they are 3" cutouts? The collectors on the Pacesetter headers are 3 inches as well so I don't how they could be off that much. A shop should have no problem welding them in though. I don't think it would be a good idea to weld them directly onto the headers though in the event that you might have to one day take them back off.

They'll be able to fab something up. Either expand them, weld them or use a small piece to join them together. The headers and cutout will be 3" outside diameter. The y-pipe is expanded to 3" inside to fit over. The bigger problem will be the floor brace on the driver side. The cutout probaly won't fit at the end of the header.

well the cutouts came with clamps should i just clamp them? if not then what should i do? I know welding them directly to the headers isnt that smart but what else can i do?

Should i just have them make the y-pipe and just put a single cutout on the y-pipe. How will they weld the pipe up without collectors.

If you are having a shop rig up a custom y-pipe, you should just hand the cutouts over to them and let them incorporate them into your new y-pipe.
