Do you think a tune will help?

My '94 stumbles from a take off or under a load. Almost like it is cutting out. Ever since my car had a short in the wire to the coil, I have had this problem. I replaced a section of that wire, but the problem persists. The mods are in my signature. Any help would be appreciated.

You might check your ignition module. Autozone will do it for free. It is located directly above the stock coil.

Re: Do you think a tune will help?

You must first find the source of the problem. Any EFI owner should get a scan tool. Its worth its weight in gold in trouble shooting problems.
Maybe your stumble is because the IAC is mis adjusted or stuck open/close. Maybe you have a stuck injector, the scan tool would show your fuel integrators/BLM values indicating if its constantly adding or removing fuel...could be a bad ground, bad connection somewhere....bad plugs, vacuum leak, exhaust leak before the O2..

Have you checked the cat(s) and fuel filter lately?

Re: Do you think a tune will help?

Fuel filter has been replaced, and I don't have a cat.

Maybe I should invest in a scan tool. Any suggestions on what kind?

How would a coolant temp sensor affect this?

It tells the computer that it's -75 degrees outside and the computer adds tons of fuel.

I would like to think it isn't the wires, they are new and so are the plugs.

A tune will not help a "stumble" on a bolt-on car.
