Cut out vs. Random Technology cat-back!!!
I just bought a 3" Random technology cat back (new for $180 shipped from eBay 
....My friend has one and he gain 13.9 RWHP (with hot cam and no hearers). I hope I will gain little bit more (due to MAC headers and ported heads). I read that this is the best catback if you want more power, so I was thinking how many more HP I will gain if I will put a cut-out on this exhaust. Is this worth it, how much louder the cut-out will be?

I have the random tech catback, and a cutout. When the car was stock, with longtubes and the catback, the cutout didn't help much. I've since added cam/heads, and the car picked up an additional 13rwhp with the cutout open.

If i were you i would go ahead and put a cut out on it b/c your going to pick up some hp with it. And if you think it's too loud to drive with open all the time, then just open it up when your at the track.
