What do you mean turndown? If you mean the exaust cutout tube is facing the ground, then no you dont. Mine is pretty much horizontal but slopes slightly towards the ground.

no, by turndown he means a pipe with a 3 bolt flange that bolts onto the cutout when open to direct exhaust gasses at the ground so it dosent burn your floor or carpet. i dont think its needed if its not heating up the floor, but it wouldnt hurt. hope this helps, prorac1

If what prorac is saying is what your talking about there's no need to spend the extra cash. Exhaust gases from a cutout aren't going to be so hot they burn the floor or anything(it's metal anyway). Just get the cutout by itself.

Don't worry about getting a turn down. The cut out should do just fine. I have one and the under body of my car is not burning fron the gasses. There is nothing to worry about.

I have a turn-down extension on my ecutout. It was made for me by a friend who owns a header manufactoring shop and is stainless steel w/ a flanged end so I can angle the extension in any direction. Works well and keeps the black off the ecutout motor and bottom of car. To me that's important as I have a detailed undercarraige for show purposes. Otherwise, I wouldn't think the extension (down-turn) would be necessary.

You don't really need a turndown, but from what other people have said it quiets it down a little inside the ar.
