Custom Air Intake - Good or Bad?
Well, I've been trying to setup a custom cold air intake for the past day or two. And I'm not so sure if it's really worth it. Actually, I think it may actually be worse than a normal cold air intake.
I've got a 95 Formula, so there's those two black wholes in the nose. The plan was to snake the air intake around to the nose, pop out those black inserts and have a ram air style setup. Now, having almost completed the project I got thinking. Ram air doesn't actually do much. Adding an extra 3-4 feet of intake tube length is probably going to detract from the HP.
Are my suspicions correct? Will this mod steal horse power?
The only advantage I can see is that I'm putting a full conical air filter in each whole, so there's quite a bit more filter surface area, and it's spread out. It's not like putting two air filters right beside each other.
