CSR EWP and Fans - a quick question
CSR EWP and Fans - a quick question
So that's my configuration, EWP works fine, temp gauge never goes above the 1/4 mark and the fans never seem to come on. I know I have to do a test by turning on the A/C to see if that makes the fans come on immediately as they are supposed to in that situation - but I am wondering if it is normal for the fans not to come on like that and the temp still remain low (at the 1/4 mark - I've got a Canadian car so there are no actual temp values marked on the gauge)?
Seems a bit odd to me - or the EWP is truly a miracle worker. I have not scanned to check the temp being seen by the PCM, but the car worked fine last fall and it seems to be running well now. I didn't find any mention of this issue in my search.

My fans don't come on when the A/C is on unless the pressure in the A/C system gets to a certain point. Don't remember what the pressure is, but it takes sitting in traffic on a hot day to make it high enough for the fans to turn on.

The car has had a 160 Hypertech thermostat for many years but I am not sure what was done in the programming. I checked everything I had from PCMforless and there was no indication of where they were setting the fan-on temps. As you may have seen in my signature, it is a tune for an LE1 Emissions cam so they probably did their standard settings for that configuration.(?)
