CSI Water pump groaning...

A couple days ago I noticed the pump was getting loud. It has not leaked a single drop and my temps are as low as they ever were. Does that mean the pump is going out or did i do something wrong?

If so, can I have the pump rebuilt by CSI? What is their customer sevice number/website???? I could not seem to find it with simple searches.

I had one start doing that. It had water leaking into the motor.

Re: CSI Water pump groaning...

What do u mean leaking water into the motor? Into the cylinders or into the oil system? I will have CSI hanging by their toes if that's the case, however, I don't see how that would happen? The only way water would be introduced into either of those two environments is through the head gasket. The passageways infront of the water pump only leak to water passages, not to the internals of the motor. I haven't heard of any stock pumps doing that, csi should be no different....

Does that mean the WP motor is going out?

Again, anybody have the contact info for CSI???

Not the eng, the CSI pump. It was leaking water past the bearings in the base of the pump and into the Electric motor. Take the end cap off and take a look in side it or take a stethoscope to it and turn it on. This should give you your answer. CSI 386-776-1476

For those who do searches.... csi (now csr) has a 1 year warranty on the electric water pumps. It is preferable if you have your receipt of purchase.

Thanks for the update. Any luck with yours getting replaced or rebuilt? What is their stand on the service end, I have much wondered how they treat problems like this with their pumps.

Mine just locked up. Only had 400-500 hours on it. Went with a Meziere and no problems. The Meziere is amuch beefer unit. It may cost a little more but in my opinion well worth it.

Re: CSI Water pump groaning...

I'm going to pull it out this week. Apparently, they have a 24 hour turnaround time. The guy said basically if it arrives at 8AM it will be out the same day. I was thinking to myself hmmm I've heard that before haha. I will post back when I know how these guys honor their warranty. I did my CSI with my cam swap a little under a year ago.
