Cruise Control Cable Question

My cruise control stopped working, and I saw today that the cable was laying against the driver's side header and has burned in a ~1" spot.

I was unable to find the part number for a cruise control cable for a 1993 Z28. Can anyone help there?

I was also wondering if replacing the cable is "plug-n-play" at the cruise control module?

Thanks

Re: Cruise Control Cable Question

I believe GM discontinued them and I haven't been able to find an aftermarket company that makes them. I disconnected my TC during my cam swap and was looking for a cruise control cable for non TC vehicles when I found this out. Your best bet is to scour junkyards or find someone parting a car out.

How much would you want for the cable? Do you have a picture of it?

Thanks!

Re: Cruise Control Cable Question

Have you tried calling the dealer? I tried looking up the part number on GM parts direct, but had no luck. I believe the part number to be: 12550719

Ew... looks like it has been discontinued... at least according to this page:

Re: Cruise Control Cable Question

I just ran out and looked at mine here mine is melted a little to from the headers, I removed it from the box and it still slides smooth, so if you cant find one you could get mine. remove your cable from your throttle body and see if it slides in and out for you that will let you know if its in the cable or not
