Crappier run at track yesterday

Last year i ran a 13.4 at 101 on some crappy kumhos. so i figured i would buy the nitto 555r 315's and knock a few tenths off my time. Well i ended up running between a 14.1 at 98 with practically no traction in 55 degree weather. What should i do here, or what should i check into with my car. Pretty much all the tune up craps done. I dropped like 4 mph. this makes me think that something is up. Also should i heat these tires up really good or not?

Re: Crappier run at track yesterday

i would say yes heat those tires real good when i first got my nittos i was real dissapointed i would do like a 3 sec burny and would not get any traction more than my street tires but not a big increase but then i started burnin them till there was a descent cloud of smoke behind me then i let of the brake and kept em spinnin till they cought but when i launched my first time doin that it scared me how hard they grabbed i did a 3500 rpm clutch drop and they just caught
but they do slip perty good when not heated

Re: Crappier run at track yesterday

You definently should be heating them up pretty good, especially in 55* weather.

Ditto here.. heat those mothers up good bud! They need it...
BFG's are no better than nittos... they are all the same... have had nittos for a long time and i know plenty of people with BFG's too, there is no big difference

I think alot of people switching from both on the same car (assuming its more than a bolt-on car) will tell you there is a difference.
