I've had synthetic fluid (Valvoline Synthetic I think) in my rear end for 4 years. I changed over when I installed my Eaton, 4:10 gears, Raytech Crush Sleeve Eliminator and T/A Girdle. I haven't had any problems at all. Still hooks good and does not slip. I think you should be fine.

I don't think you hurt anything but, Eaton does say to reg. oil.

I have an Eaton as well but use reg. oil. They say this right on there web site.

I actually called them up about this when I got my 12 bolt from Moser. I was told that it would weaken the bonding of the clutches over time. They also told me to run GM limited slip additive. When I first installed the rearend, I didn't have access to any so I just used two tubes of an additive from a local parts store. My outside tire would chatter like crazy on sharp low speed turns. I couldn't get some GM additive quick enough after that!

Not trying to get off topic, I'm just saying we all have those moments Heatmaker.

Does your posi still make both wheels spin? Unless you've been running a really long time then I doubt you've done any damage. Just change it out.

I spend so much time upgrading my car now..I hardly have a chance to drive it. I put 500miles on her with the new Posi in there. PArtially due to a 300 mile drive to Viginia....she should be okay if I change the fluid out right?

I'd be willing to bet so. I'd change the fluid anyway now just to see how things are looking.
