Crankshaft Pulley Hub Help?
Hey everyone, i want to change the crankshaft seal on my 95 Z28. I know that you use a puller to get the pulley off, but im not sure on how you go about getting the hub off. Ive done some forum searching but im still a bit unsure on how to accomplish this task. Can anybody give some good step by step tips on how to remove the hub. Specifics on bolt sizes, (as ive read that you need to insert a smaller bolt into the crank as to not strip the threads). Pics would be a big help as I am a newbie

The tool above is for Removing the hub only, you insert a stud into where you removed the crank bolt from then use the 3 harmonic balancer holes to thread the tool into and then crank the big bolt down until the hub starts to slid off. I don't like to use and impact if i dont have to but sometimes it may be nessery.
To install you can go to the harware store and get a 7/16-20 threaded rod cut it down to size, Then you will need 2 bolts, a washer (should fit over the crank hub snout). Make sure the rod is threaded all the way into the crank and is not loose at all. Slid hub onto crank, then washer, then the 2 bolts. Slowly start to crank bolt and hub will start to slide onto crank. there will be 2 little grooves around the hub, the 2nd one in is where the crank seal sits.
Hope this helps and i have some pictures of the threaded rod method
