cranks but won't start

I just put in a new opti, maf is off, no coolant, no fans in yet. I figured i'd just start it once then put the rest in. The car won't start is it because the maf or coolant isnt in it?

Re: cranks but won't start

First thing I would suggest is check your dowel pin placement on the opti

Put your MAF on just in case.

Sounds silly but have you double checked the opti connector too make sure it seated fully.

Pull your number 1 plug out and leave the wire on it. Set it close to but not touching a ground source and have someone turn it over. See if you getting spark. Does your fuel pump prime when you turn the key on?

Re: cranks but won't start

This is off the wall, but a few weeks ago I had my car up in the air looking for a coolant leak and tried to start it to see if I could see it easier and the damn thing wouldn't start. Long story short- replacing the fuel filter fixed it. No starting problems up until then so there was no warning- just up and quit. Worth a $5 filter to eliminate it.
