Cranking, not starting. What else could it be besides opti?

I changed my anti-freeze,..... yes i know. and well i dont think i got anything wet, well the car started up and got me about 2 miles, then i went in the food joint, left the car running, came out and the car was dead. It crank but never started back up. i have no spark in the plugs or coil. i hooked up my old coil and it still dont work, so its not the coil. How often do the ignition modules go out? What could i have done? I really dont wanna change the opti again, it has 6,000 miles on it, and 2 years old. I'll appriciate any responses to this.

Should not be the ignition, if it was, it would be copletelly dead.

Do you have power to the coil? Have you checked fuses?

My car died on me once, I was driving out for a lunch date, crossed the intersection, and it flat-out-died. I tried to start it over & over, it would sound like it turns over, but dead. It ended up being the Ignition Control Module(ICM), had it scoped by the dealer, they charged me 300 bucks to replace it, this included the scope charge. My car had about 100K miles on it.

I'm having a similar problem right now. Last week I changed my stock coil to an accel and everything was working good until tonight. The car will crank but just doesn't want to start up. I'm pulling my hair trying to think of something but I'm not having much luck coming up with a solution.

Check for spark, first. Some new coils die prematurely.

I am not getting spark from the plugs or the coil. i hooked up my old coil and still got nothing, so i kinda weeded out it being the coil. Where is the icm at? How do i test that? I am getting fuel, the pump wines when i turn the key. Any opinions?

Exactly the same thing as me, I've tried two coils and still nothing. Shoebox has a pic of the ICM

That definitely sounds like the ICM to me. My car died on the highway one night and absolutely would not start even though it cranked fine. They are pretty cheap, so its no biggie.

Here's one
