Crank reluctor wheel?

This was unplugged when I got the car over a year ago so I left it alone. I recently swapped cams and forgot to put the wheel back in. Seeing how it was unplugged anyways does this make a difference. I am also Thinking of switching to OBD1. Do I need to tear mo motor back down or did I dodge a bullet?

Since your engine has a crank position sensor, must be a 96/97. The CKP was only used in OBD-II to detect misfires. If its unplugged, it should be setting codes. Obviously, the engine will run fine without it.

Without the reluctor gear though, the damper hub may go on too far. The 96/97 hub is shorter, to allow space for the reluctor gear.

Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way the info is always available to people trying to help you.

Sig added. I need a retune and I was thinking of switching to OBD1 so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't crucial to operation. The car runs amazing so I just wanted to make sure.
