Crank position sensor & OBD1
Re: Crank position sensor & OBD1
OBD1 does not use the crankshaft position sensor. You can leave the sensor in place to plug up the hole, the PCM just doesn't talk to it. If you choose to remove the sensor and plug the hole, you need to leave the reluctor gear in place on the crankshaft as it acts as a spacer for the crankshaft hub.
Re: Crank position sensor & OBD1
I did the same with my 96, and I ended up using a timing cover and crank hub from a 95 so I could eliminate the reluctor wheel too. Besure that you use a knock sensor from a 95 too
Re: Crank position sensor & OBD1
Thanks fellas. Ive already got the KS> I just wanted to make sure I would not need the CPS before I filled the hole with something. Mine leaks like a SOB or id just leave it in there THanks again
