crank position sensor

i dropped a 94 corvette lt1 engine into my 96 z28. i know i have to delete the crank position sensor from the pcm and i will do that but will it run even tho i havent deleted it yet??

The CPS is only there to detect misfires and has no bearing on how the PCM delivers fuel and spark. You'll be fine without it.

Are you sure about this one mate? Is it that okay even without that thing? I thought that CPS and PCM has a connection in terms of delivering fuel and spark.

True.

The CPS can be completely unplugged and make no difference (other than causing a trouble code).

The PCM runs the ignition timing and injection timing based on the cam position input from the optical cam position sensor in the Optispark distributor. You can't run full sequential injection with only a crank position sensor.

Think about it.... the 92-95 LT1 engines run fine without the CKP sensor.
