Question A couple ?'s

Im about to rebuild my 94 A4 Z28 and do .30 over pistons and LT4 Hot Cam and a couple bolt ons and use the car as a daily driver, I was wondering what gears I should run 373's or 342's? Also I need to know if my rear is a 2 or 3 carrier and is it a 7.5? I have no idea, also what size torque converter should I run a 2400 or 3000. Im new at all this since Im only 17 and building my first car by myself so please help me by answering my questions, thanks Josh

Since you are young and still new to the car world I will correct a few things for you which will help you on down the road.

Its .030 over (thousanths) not .30 (hundredths).
I think 3.73's are a good overall gear

To determine if you have 2 or 3 series carrier, see if you can put your car in Drive 1 (on the shifter) if it only goes to drive 2, then you have stock 2.73's 2 series carrier. If you can go into Drive 1 then you have Stock 3.23's with a 3 series carrier.

Your rear is a 7.5

Most people recommend 3000rpm stall converter for stock (or street).

Since you have no one to help you I suggest you to ask lots of questions.

The rear is actually a 7.65, but people call it a 7.5, too.

3.73 will work fine for you. You can get gears to go with your carrier I had 2.73 in mine . 2500 to 3000 stall will work well.My son`s ta as this combo with hot cam it haul`s ***.

He runs 13.62 at 104 mph that`s at 2300 alt. above sea level. he has nos on it but can`t get tires under it. if you go with that combo you should have lot`s of fun. just little info with 3.73 at 80mph you be a about 3 grand .
