Question Couple Questions on N20 vs Blower??

while a motor can be built to handle either of these power adders, which power adder is easier on the motor. i would like a blower but don't want to cut down the life of my motor. which is going to help me get the gains i want without shortening the life of my engine. the N20 would only be a 150 shot used probably a bottle every 2 weeks if that. the blower would put out ~10 lbs of boost. which ever i decide to go with, the motor will be built to handle (forged, w/ appropriate cr)

thanks guys

stock car at 10 pounds i dont see lasting that long, compression is way to high on lt1's to be running a high psi blower and expect it to last long, need to lower the compression ratio or dont expect it to last long.
as for nitrous ive heard alot of people praising nitrous on lt1's.

From: looking for a flow bench so Brook and I can race
supercharger = highlycompressed hot air (air is a miixture of substances, o2 being the one that burns)

Nitrous is cold and not compressed like air from a blower is. The high O2 presence is the big "power adder"

Thats why nitrous can work well with high compression and S/C dont.

150shot = 10x easier than 10lbs

blowers are always on, heat and all kinds of other stuff.

i am not talking about on a stock motor for either of these power adders. like i said, i would be building a motor for whatever power adder i decide on. i will build a low compression motor for a blower (8.5:1) or a high compression motor for spray (11:1) i am just asking what the advantages are to both and also the downsides to both. which will cause less stress and harm on an engine?

thanks

IMO SC's place an extra side load on the crank, which doesnt happen with nitrous.
As far as easier? if both engines are built for the respective power adders,i dont see 1 being easier on the engine then the other.

As with any high performance power adder setup, the life will be shortened when compared to a N/A setup.

Pretty much pick your poison and have fun.

lets just say dont expect it to go 150k miles

it's not major, but then again, you want to make the power, you will have to pay the price.

Well its just me but a well built blower motor taken care of will last well over 65k miles. If you pound the crap out of it neither will last. The GAS you only get one mistake and boom your motor is toast. With Blowers you never have to fill a bottle . . Your not always making boost. Whats your goal and budget. Blower cost a lot of cash.
