Couple of questions about upgrading my exhaust
Couple of questions about upgrading my exhaust
I have a 1994 Z28 I'am wanting to put headers and a catback system on it. their are kits out their that sell the headers and catback system all together but I haven't found any for my car. I was wondering if I bought a certian brand of headers and y pipe and a certian brand of exhaust if it will all bolt on without having to have anything made or welded becouse I would like to do the install myself. I was also wondering if I could by over the valve cover plug wires to solve any problems I may have with the headers coming in contact with the plug wires
Re: Couple of questions about upgrading my exhaust
Most headers and y-pipes are designed to bolt up to most CAT back systems. Pick headers you like and an exhaust you like and contact each company to make sure about any fitment issues....As far as OVC wires you can get a kit from www.Thunderracing.com complete with crimp your own wires or just get the looms from them, Summit or Jegs and get the wires from www.elitesparkplugs.com which are premade for the OVC routing...I made my own before elite was around...either way I highly recommend the OVC wire routing..No more burned wires...

Re: Couple of questions about upgrading my exhaust
Depending on whether or not you have to pass emissions, the best bang for the buck will be Pacesetter longtubes, ORY(off road y-pipe) and a hooker catback. Shouldnt run you any more than 650.00, and you will get a nice performance gain along with a much better sounding car.
Good luck
Good luck
Re: Couple of questions about upgrading my exhaust
Another vote for the Pacesetter long tubes and the www.elitesparkplugs.com wire sets.
