Couple Of Qs From N2O Backfire This Weekend!!! Car Broke, PLEASE Help.....

ok, these are pretty quick Qs...

first, the water coolant/temp sensor that goes in the water pump needs to be replaced. i bought one at parts store last night, jacked the car up, drained the coolant, and slide under the car. what size wrench fits that stupid thing? i tried a 3/4 which looked right at first, but then sliped off. im guessing it's metric- something between a 5/8 and 3/4? there's no special tool or anything??

second, when i drained the coolant i noticed a redish tint. the first thing that came to mind was tranny fluid and im like, there's no way. so i checked the tranny fluid and everything looked fine- no green or milky color in the tranny fluid. so i called my buddy at GM, he said that the tranny cooler is right beside the radiator and that it's possible that if something cracked they could have mixed. i know that our cars came from the factory with a orange/red coolant so i was thinking maybe someone changed to green somewhere along the line. anybody got any advice on this one??

TIA, jon

The Water temp sensor on mine was SAE, But I can't remember what. also 96's came with DEX-COOL it is a reddish colored collant If it were tranny fluid you'd have a lot of foam on your trans dipstick cause coolant would also be in your tranny! the only way I can see that happening is through the radiator! but I think it's just DEX-COOL leftover I would say flush and fill with dex-cool cause that's what GM Reccomends

also Tranny fluid is Oil so it will float on top of coolant
