a couple problems with my new setup..

okay, so i did heads and a cam, yadda yadda.. but now 1, the fans arent coming on.. i tested the relay for the second fan and it wasnt working, but after putting a new one on they still wont come on, and this was happening before the build, so during the build i put in a new sensor on the water pump..

also, the cars kind of sputtering.. under acceleration, the car will go up to a certain rpm, and then it has 0 power, (almost like it needs to shift, but wont) and then all of a sudden itll kick in (after x amount more pressure on the pedal) and accelerate hard... so im thinking either 02s or detecting a knock or something weird..

EDIT: oh yeah, and the car smells weird.. im used to smelling !cats, but this is weird.. it happens even when the car isnt too hot, so i dont think its burnt coolant.. there is an oil leak, so maybe its that...

oh yeah.. its a 95 z with stage 1 heads and a 230/236 cam + boltons..

the sputtering thing is only sometimes, but tonight i also experienced a high rpm sputtering right near the shift point... maybe starved for fuel cause of the stock injectors and fuelpump?

You need to check your fuel pressure while the engine is under load at WOT.
You need to check for coolant leaks onto the opti
You need to pull your plug wires out and check for burnt spots especially on the passenger side. You won't be able to see them well enough still on the engine.
You need to get the PCM scanned.
Smelling "weird" cannot really be diagnosed.
Put the old temp. sensor back on and see what happens. Check the fuse as well.

Yup, check fuel pressure while driving and check the plug wires.

Where is it leaking oil from?

I always get a weird kinda sweet smell right before my opti goes out.

well im running a delteq, so that eliminates MOST of the chance of coolant ruining the opti.. the wires are fine too

its leaking oil from the dipstick (as far as i can figure..)

i guess ill have to find a fuel pressure gauge thingie... shrader valve?

I bought my fuel pressure gauge from autzone for like 40 bucks and just taped it to my windshield when I was testing my fuel pressure.

yeah, im definitely in need of some more fuel delivery.. i had a big wide open test area today, so i got on it up to 100mph, and once it got close 5500 rpms it started having trouble going any higher..

Get you a racetronix set-up and some bigger injectors. I would say 30/36lb.

you need bigger injectors and a racetronix just like the guy above me said. beyond that, get your car tuned with LT1 edit by Nicd. get on AZFBA.com like I have been telling you for awhile, and post up buddy! we can do what we can to help you out locally!

i really dont know much about H/C setups, but it sounds like you need more fuel. what is your A/F? If you dont know your A/F, I wouldnt floor or beat on the car at all, because it could be dangerous like mine, as well as many others who do swap such as ours.

24lb SVO injectors will be fine. Its more like 28lb at the LT1s fuel pressure. You can do 30s as well.

You will need a tune though. Grab a mailorder tune after you swap the injectors so you can drive it around. I highly doubt NicD will tune your LT1.

Good luck

This may be a logn shot but if you put in new headers and theyre coated that may explain the weird smell...
