could someone take a look at the times I'm running

Took the car to the track about 2 weeks ago for the first time since I did the hotcam kit upgrade and was wondering how these times seemed:

1.230 ---reaction--- .918
1.938 ---60 ft --- 2.711
5.962 ---330 ft. --- 6.570
8.152 -- ET@594 ft. 8.535
8.795 --- 1/8 ET 9.154
69.97 ---1/8 MPH -- 72.6

My second run was:

.502 ---reaction ---.655
1.506 ---60 ft --- 2.400
4.386 ---330 ft. --- 6.202
5.928 -- ET@594 ft. 8.136
6.382 --- 1/8 ET 8.741
99.12 ---1/8 MPH -- 74.46

This was with pretty much no traction thru 1 and 2nd gear. Could someone convert this and tell me about what I run in the 1/4? Also, do these times seem good for my mods listed below? I'm new at this and just wondering where I can improve (of course I know my first change should be tires!) Thanks for any advice!

Mods are:

LT4 hotcam kit and ported/polished heads M6 3.42s, Moroso CAI, 52 mmtb, LT4 knock module, !CAT, Flowmaster, TPIS shortie headers, 17 inch WS6 rims

Those times are GARBAGE LOLj/k You need to get some traction big time.2.7 & 2.4 short times are not even close to being good.Get some brg drags and work on those short times. You should be in the 1.7-1.8 range to be good.1 second better should get you about .5 or more in the 8th.

Your 60ft sucks of course but your trap speed should be at least in the 84-88 range. Were you on the breaks early? If not then I'd get that thing on a scanner. Later.

That doesnt look to good at all my man. 2.7 60ft is REALLLLY BAD! Tires and a efw other sus. mods might help. Also practice your launch a lil more too. You should be able to run 12's in the 1/4 easy with that setup, jus a lil better driving. Good luck!

I ran a 13.70 @ 102 in the quater and on that pass i ran a 8.80 @ 80.08 mph. But i agree with the other guys, it sounds like you need tires, but your trap speed should be a little higher, look into some tuning. Hope this helps. Prorac1

you have got to make sure that you stay on the gas the whole way through the traps. i would bet some money that you were on the brakes too quick. there is now way you could run 8.74@74mph w/ a 2.4 60ft. you should be running low 8s w/ tires. you have a 12 second car i'd say.

Just as a reference, One of my freinds with a M6, hot cam, stock exhaust manifold, borla cat back and an Ed Wright tune was running 13.6. Then he installed a shift light and pratice his launch. Now he runs a consistent 13.0 to 13.1 at 107-109MPH. I would say get your launches down right and your shift points and you will see a big improvement in both your ET and 1/4 mi times.

hope that helps,
Claude
