could it be my tranny

I have a 4 speed auto and when im hitting on it when it shifts around 5600-6000 rpm's i hear a squeell sort of like when a belt is sleeping.........any body know what this could be.....any takers?

when was the last time you changed your belt???? Try and spray some water on the drive belt and take her out for a spin and see if it still does it.

Do you happen to have underdrive pulleys? This happened to me before when someone put a stock-length drivebelt on with my underdrive pulleys. The belt was just a little too long and would squeal when it shifted at high RPM's. I'd say you have a 90% chance of belt slippage.

well......i guess im gonna have to wait to do this cuz theres bout 4 or 5 inches of snow on the ground and my car doesnt see snow....ill prolly just end up changing the belt sometime and see if it still does this....i have 5 long months to wait lol.....hey guys thanks for ur input

oh yeah and how my belt is sleeping i dont know.....what i meant is slipping,.......mut have had sleeping on my mind
