Could my injectors be dirty?

My car is getting some shoddy gas mileage so i figured i might look at the injectors because the car is pretty much all tuned up. I tried injector cleaners 2-3 times w/i the last 3k miles. I used lucas, stp, and seafoam. Didnt really notice a diff w/ any besides seafoam because i used it in my intake as well. I was thinking that maybe my injectors are too dirty for injector cleaners. Should i take them out and maybe clean them by hand (if so how do i clean them?) Also, would it be wise to put a lot of denatured alchohol in the gas tank which i hear will clean the injectors well.
Car is all tuned up w/ 2.73 gears only thing i have left to do is o2 sensors which are on their way. Im only getting like 12 mpg.

Re: Could my injectors be dirty?

It's hard to say, really. It's possible. But LT1 injectors are notoriously hard to clean, if they're dirty most people recommend to replace them. I've got some late model LS1 injectors (28/32 lb) going into my car soon, got them for 58 shipped off ebay. Your O2 sensors could have an effect, as well as intake or exhaust restrictions (filter dirty, cat plugged...), ignition problems (fouled plugs, arcing wires, etc)... Might also want to do a compression check, leakdown, vacuum even if you can't find anything else wrong.

if they are dirty, clogged, etc., then you'll have a lean mixture, one or a number of your header primaries may glow, you'll have engine knock if its bad, and if its really bad, you'll have white smoke coming out th eback that smells neither like antifreeze or fuel, its possibly **** being burned on the inside of the exhaust.

I do have a lean mixture. If they are dirty, can i possibly clean them myself? Should i put a gallon of denatured alchohol in my tank or would that be a bad idea?

Re: Could my injectors be dirty?

I changed the fuel filter within the last 2000 miles. I dont think it was plugged either because it didnt make any difference when i changed it.
