Could misadjusment of rockers cause pinging?
I had some work done the car.
Car ran fine except it was blowing smoke.
The exhaust seal where changed and no more smoke, but now it pings at about 1700 to 2000 rpm under load.

As stated earlier have you scanned your car?? Pinging is usually in reference to detonation. I know with 93's some people desensitize there knock modules to prevent timing being pulled due to false knock.
If you where burning oil in the past you could have a carbon build up in the compustion cambers and on top of the pistons. Run some top end cleaner (seafoam) through the engine and see if that helps.

[i]We went over this on the last post about pinging. Did you go and get your car scaned. We need some o2 reading and knock reading. What plugs are you runing?[/B]
She takes a while to go to closed loop, but I associate that
with headers and non heated o2 sensors. The plugs NGK TR55, I think I will pull one off to see if they got caked up from the intial smoking problem.
Thanks for your help guys.
I will keep you posted.
