Could i put chrome polish on my headers??

Could i put chrome polish on my headers??

They are coated but i was wondering maybe this would help some corrosion

You can get them chrome polished but i wouldn't. I don't think it would be worth the money. Besides they won't stay the nice chrome like they are when they are new. They change wierd colors. Well at least mine did on my headers for my mustang. As for the corrosion i can't really tell you.

I think his question is "can I use chrome polish to remove corrosion from my coated headers"????? Correct me if I'm wrong.

The instructions that came with my Airborne coated headers recommended removing stains and burned on material with a "medium" 3M pad. It actually worked. Not sure if it would actually remove rust, if it is starting to eat through the coating.

I do have a spot on my headers where an EGT bung was welded in after the headers were coated, and that will get a little brown with rust every once in a while, and it can be cleaned up with Mothers Aluminum Polish.

If the corrosion is severe, you might want to check and see what the warranty is. Just our of curiosity, what headers and who's coating?
