Could a bad opti cause arcing wires?

The reason I am asking is I have this miss or stumble at around 2k for the first five minute's or so after start up,as soon as she warms up it goes away.I changed o2's and it still doing it,so I was thinking to do the coil and wire, anyway last nite i did the dark room test and it's like christmas under my hood, from the coil a couple of wire's on the left a couple on the right. My buddy with a 94 t/a had the same arcing problem and changed wires coil plugs and it still did it untill he changed his opti and now all is well.Sorry if this is long guy's but my question is could a bad opti cause all this arcing.Thanks...

Could Be. When you have a Burnt or Arching Plug wire.. Listen to your exhaust.. It will be different.
