NO WAY!! My 89Z handles NO WHERE near as nice as my 93Z.
I can't tell the power apart so much, but the handling is SO much sloppier in a 3rd gen. My 89 has 63,000 and my 93 has 120,000 so I don't thing the bushing issue can be brought up.

The f-bodie's engine is buried under the firewall where a corvette is right out in the open? I havn't seen anything that makes the corvette harder to work on?? Maybe im missing something.
I'd have to agree. I've had 2 C4 vettes and they were the easiest cars to work on. Once you put the hood up, theres tons of space to work with, unlike the LT1 Fbodys.

I've owned a '94 Z28 A4 & my current '97 Z28 M6 ragtop. I also used to own a '96 Corvette--no comparison, it would run away quickly in the twisties from both of my Camaros.

one other thing vettes have over camaros are more # injectors and a bigger throttle body and high flow exhaust. i have a buddy with a 93 camaro auto. and in the 1/8 mile with his first engine he ran a 9.2 and he blew up that motor and got it replaced with an early or mid 90's vette motor and he ran an 8.9!

I was under the assumption that both vettes and camaros had 24lb injectors and 48mm throttle bodies??

976 speed what are you talking about? The L98 motor? In ether case of the L98, LT1, and LS1 the motors are pretty much the same for Camaros and Vettes. Yes there are some differences but the NUMBER of injectors? No.

The only LT1 vettes that had different pound injectors or bigger TB was the LT4 vette. 52mm TB and 28lbs injectors. The F-bodys That came with LT4 also had this upgrade.

I know this thread isn't exactly wbout which people like better, but I definitely prefer a solid rear axle to IRS. That's why I prefer the F-body to the Corvette. Also, except for the C2 "Stingray" I have never much liked the appearance of the 'vette. To my eyes, a 4th gen is a much nicer looking car than a C4. The C5 is pretty nice though. Also, since stock cars don't interest me at all, if you start with a $25K car instead of a $50K car and make it essentially valueless by modding the hell out of it, you save $25K right up front.

I like Corvettes and all , but a 2 seater isnt practical, well for me it isnt , and the rear axel deal , i never even thought about that, good point ...

However, when a Camaro drives by, the awe factor is about 10 times less then that of a corvette ... Well inless the F-Bod sounds MEAN, everyone digs mean cars lol

Honestly i cant see what is wrong with the IRS that came in the vettes. The dana 44 in the six speeds is the same rear in the viper and have been fine in many corvettes that run 10s. I know that the stock 7.5 in the camaros will not hold up to that, the upgrade to 12bolt runs upwards of 2k. The IRS also has a better ride.

The corvette you start with a weight of 3250lbs and the camaro is typically 3600 depending upon options. Corvettes allow better options for freer flowing headers/exhuast due to the chassis as well. Plus it handles superior to the f-bodies....Besides appearance which is personal opinion that can be argued (one that varies among many) I cannot see anything that the camaro has over the corvette besides price?
There is not a 25k difference in LT1 cars anymore, many LT1 vettes can be bougt for 10-12k now and LT1 F-bodies are around 5-8k. But i have to agree with you the 2nd gen vette is still the most disirable vette out there to many.

Um Actually i have a few pics up on a car domain website http ://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=388822. Oh its not a callaway, i need to take those pics down. Youll have to cut and paste it into the browser and take the spaces out after http as i can't get it to link right on here.

I don't have times as of yet becuase i just got the motor set down in the car yesterday and have a little ways to go before i get it running. My previous best was with a zz9 cam, full exhaust, bolt ons and a stall of 12.7@105... Hopefully ill see better when its done.

Im actually 20 as of two weeks ago but i go to UNL. I get asked all the time how i paid for the car and the mods....believe it or not i buy/restore/sell/part John Deere tractors made in the 50s.

I agree with you completely. Ive never liked the looks of the c4 much. I think the 4th gen looks nicer, IMO. I do like the c5 though
