4 bolt mains should be the only difference.

The 96 Vette block (and maybe other LT1/4 years) uses an off-set oil filter mount required to clear the FAT CATs the Vette has. I don't know what arrangement the "F" body cars have or whether your short block came with one of those offset jobs.

Vettes use a slightly different oil pan configuration. I guess it's due to chassis clearance differences.

Steam line mounts to the heads the same way but may terminate differently. You'll need to use your 'F' body steam line.

Not sure about the hub, damper and flexplate. If it's a LT1 they may swap over; if LT4 probably not. Hopefully your new short block came with them; that'll eliminate any balance concerns. I know the ATI Super Damper I just bought the 388 I just built is specifically for the Vette, so that tells me that their NON Vette LT1 damper is different somehow.

Water pumps are different. The one I bought turned out to be for a "F" body and had two (I believe) more hose connections points than the Vette pump.

The 96 Vette block should have two open holes to mount two knock sensors, one on each side. Don't know what year yours is.

96 Vette uses different motor/block mounts. Three bolts to the block, a single stud with nut which goes through a hole in the frame and a typical horizonal bolt and nut to connect the upper and lower mounts. So you may need the motor mounts off your non Vette engine and the exhaust manifolds.
Oil pressure and fuel B/U senders mount to the rear China wall on the Vette block; don't know where they mount on the 'F' body. If yours mounts differently, you'll need to plug that hole.

Those are the only things I can think of right now.

Jake

You said "short block"..... that wouldn't include most of those parts.

In that case you are going to have to do something about the CPS as well, assuming this is for the 97 in your signature.

As you can see, giving incomplete information in your question will get you incomplete answers...

No its 96 like i said in the initial post, i fixed my sig.

EDIT: ok clafification....
Shortblock is from a 94 vette >> http://i19.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/a3/0f/c328_1.JPG
Using heads/intake/accessories/trans/etc... off of a 96 with a spun bearing.
And not that i matters but im going to use an LT4 hotcam kit in the vette engine.

I have a Vette 4-bolt short block in my 93Z and EVERYTHING
from my 93 bolted right up to it. Mine must not be a 96 block.
