Hello!
I think only the LT 1 Corvette throttle body is heated by the cooling system of the engine. But I don't want to use this system any more. The problem is that the heating system for driver / passenger is in the same route as the throttle body and I don't want to use the same bypass in the upper area of the radiator(optical reasons).
Where could I also plug the heating system? There's one smaller hose from the water pump to the header tank (right word?) Is this ok ok? Or the wrong side => I think I need the outlet of the water pump.

 

The F-Body LT1's also have the throttle body coolant connections.

Not clear what you are trying to do.... first you ask about the TB coolant lines, then you indicate you want to block the "heating system".... do you mean the TB heating system of the interior heating system, or both?

 

Not sure what you mean either but all LT1's have a coolant loop thru the TB hsg. If you do not want that hooked up any more all you need to do is "bypass" it. I dont believe the TB coolant lines are hooked into the HVAC system. (I have all of mine removed on a race car application)

The line you see on the driver side that goes to the radiator is where you would tie in an oil cooler if you have one. If not then it just goes to the radiator.

In other words. I want to block the coolant flow through the throttle body. But this is not done with 2 plugs, because of the heating system, which use the same coolant line for the passenger space (right word?). But I want to eliminate the connection pipe between water pump and upper edge of the radiator.

Has anyone a description of the coolant flow of a LT 1?
So I could the the information I need.

 

What year Corvette are you asking about? Coolant plumbing is slightly different for the earlier LT1s.

 

Its one of the first 92' LT 1 Corvette.

 

On a 92 you just pull the coolant hoses off the throttle body, and join them together with a 3/8 inch barbed hose connector.
To bypass the heater, take the hose that comes off the water pump and goes to the heater and run it straight into the radiator.

 

All you need to do is remove the 2 hoses from the TB and connect them them together. The coolant justs runs thru the TB. Removing the 2 hoses just bypasses the TB.

 

I think what he wants is to not have the hoses there. I'm not sure where they are from on a 92'.

I believe on everything else the coolant comes up thru teh stem pipe hose, then thru the TB and to the rad... I think. Its been a long time and my car doesnt have any of this to go and look at.

 

On my 95 I just joined the two hoses together. I have heard of people replacing both hoses with one single hose.
