If someone could help me I would really appreciate it, the people at canton have no idea what pickup to use with the Melling Select 10554 pump. I thought it was the 20-023 but I am still not sure. Does anyone use this combination?

I went through this same thing a few months ago. I have the Melling select 10552 and the Canton 242-T. I bought the pickup they recomended with the pan, and it was too long. The pickup would hit the pan before the oil pan would touch the motor. This is beacuse the Melling Select pump body is longer. What you need to order from them is the pick up for a Corvette pan. The F Body pan is 7.5 inches deep at the sump, and the Corvette pan is 7 inches deep at the sump. This pick up with the 242-T will give you about 5/16 to 3/8 inch clearance from the pickup to pan. I'm not sure of the part number of the pick up. The Corvette pan part number is 15-240T. Hope this helps.
