Correct Dowel Pin lengths??

Does anyone KNOW the proper length for the cam dowel pins for the vented and non-vented opti's?? No guessing please, I need a good hard number. I'm pulling my opti soon and need to know. It's a vented BTW.

Ok...I can cover you with the Vented end of it.

The dowel pin should extend between .605-.620" from the end of the camshaft.

When installed....the dowel should extend right around .375"

The non-vented version would of course need to be longer....and probably not cut down at all.

Now when you say "the dowel should extend about .375 when installed" what exactly do you mean there?

I just want to make sure that I don't fry my new opti when it goes on.

Actually, the pin is shorter on a non- vented OPTI, I had to extend mine when I converted to a vented OPTI.

Sorry, forgot to mention the length. Vented OPTI should have the cam pin extend out from the cam .620"

Sean:

Correct dowel pin length on a non-vented optispark setup is .300" from the cam face, and .620" on a vented optispark setup. Tap or cut the pin as necessary. Too long, and you'll destroy the optispark.

Good luck with it! All my fun stuff arrived yesterday!
