Cooler temps, lower MPH?

My quest for 11's N/A on the stock long block is still eluding me. One strange thing I noticed the last 2 times out is that I saw no gains from cooler air temps. In fact it seemed my MPH was down just a bit with the cooler air. What could cause that?

Higher humidity?? Humidity is the biggest killer of the LT1, more so than heat.

Hmmm, could be but doubtful. Someone else suggested I might be too rich and the cooler air adding to the condition. I haven't changed the air/fuel from stock.

i was having some heat problems and let me put it like this...

ran the car at 230-220 = 14.4@96
ran teh car at 175-185 = 14.000@99

so i'd say heat is not LT1's friend

running rich will lower's MPH, and make the car run a bit cooler... (1-5)

rnuning lean will get the car running higher, and imporive MPH but VERY bad for car.... richer is alot safer

yeah but I'm only looking for .043 seconds and I should be running faster and higher mph with cold, dense air but I'm not. I'm running about the same ET but less mph.

Not a bad suggestion but I did that before. I'm currently using LT1 edit to control the cooling fans. It works out better for me that way.
