coolant to the throttle body
coolant to the throttle body
I just noticed a coolant line just under the vacuum line on pass side of throttle body was penched at a 90 degree angle and spung alea that i spraying on the tps sensor and iac sensor plugs. my question is what are the coolant lines for and what symptoms would it cause not flowing properly
Re: coolant to the throttle body
Coolant flow through the TB is to keep the TB blades from freezing in very cold extended driving. Most people just eliminate it.

Re: coolant to the throttle body
Correct. Many of us in the cold north have removed the coolant from the throttle body, with no ill effects. In fact, dyno proven to pick up 6 HP:

Re: coolant to the throttle body
Most people bypass the TB, connecting the coolant lines "around the TB". You don't want to cap off the line running from the back of the heads as this "steam pipe" eliminates gas (steam) build-up in the heads. Do a search on throttle body bypass.
