coolant temp. guage

Question coolant temp. guage

temp. guage is not reading correctly.the guage jumps
around,so I replaced the thermo.,and sensor.cleaned
conection still not reading correct. what should I try next?

You replaced the sensor in the head, correct? Perhaps your wire has an intermittent open.

Cool thxs.to rob 95za4 for help w/guage

thank you for the help.i was told by the dealership to replace
the sensor in the front of the motor.this did not solve the
problem.I cheked your response and called a diff. dealer
he sold the correct part. so thak you for your reply,otherwise
i would ahve taken the dash cluster out and sent in as
refered to by 1st. dealer.guys like you really make the web site
worthy.

The sensor in the water pump tells the ecm the temp, and the sensor in the head, between the 1st and 3rd spark plugs is the sending unit for the gauge, try replacing that one and see if it reads normal.
