Coolant Tank and Oil Question?

I was on the dyno yesterday trying out some new performance products for a local company in town and I got 10 pulls. After I was down my car had a puddle of antifreeze under it where the battery is. I have though there might be a crack in the overflow tank because the low coolant light comes on and off all the time. Does the overflow tank come out from the bottom or the top on my car? Any cheap place to find one and any easy way to replace it?

Also when I looked under almost midway under my car was some oil. It wasnt a ton but it wasnt just a tad bit. It was a line almost 2 feet long going towards both of the doors. My car was run at about 5600RPMs each time. Any ideas? Seals or what?

Re: Coolant Tank and Oil Question?

Well first off, the Low Coolant Lights are notoriuos for being bad. Most people ignore theirs. The coolant was probably from over heating after 10 stationary runs. I wouldn't worry much about this one incident. If you have to add water regularly during normal driving, then start looking for a problem.

As for the oil, where the line is should tip you off. Look at the trans. out-put shaft seat the engine rear seal area, any mating surfaces. Get under there and feel around. This aint rocket science ya-know?

You may want to do the UV dye to help track down oil leaks. $20 at one of the majors will get you a small kit. Works wonders.
