Yes, and they are two different part #'s. The one in the head is a single wire sensor using the head for a ground, the one in the water pump is a two wire sensor, using a separate wire to the PCM for a ground. Both are thermistors, with the same values for resistance vs. temperature.
so the next thing is the one on my cylinder head is wroking for sure and the one in my water pump is new.So my cooling fans are working unless i ground out the blue/green wire for the fans at the pcm so and found out water was working is the water pump not working causing the sensor not to get the right temp

Are you saying your fans are always on? If so, that may indicate you have a trouble code set in the PCM. Many of them cause the fans to operate continuously. Have you scanned it for codes? There are codes for a faulty coolant temp sensor, and codes for the fan control circuit. Again, year of car is important, because the codes are different between the OBD-I and OBD-II PCM's.
What do you mean when you say "...found out water was working..."?
If your water pump wasn't working (stripped drive gear?) its only logical that your coolant temperature would be very high and the fans would always be working. How hot is the gauge on the dash indicating?
ok sorry bout that i was in a hurry when i wrote that. So hears whats going on with my dual cooling fans are not working at all unless i put ground on the blue or green wire that goes to the pcm which tells the fans to turn on. I had forgot to put the coupling on was the reason water pump was not working.
OK... let's try this again. What temperature is the dash gauge indicating?
The first fan (or low speed, mid-94 up) comes on at 226*F, and the 2nd fan (or high speed) at 235*F. Is your dash gauge indicating coolant temperatures higher than that?
Do the fans come on when you turn on the AC?

i always shut the car off just before it gets into the red on the car so i imagine the fans should come on before that and i haven't tried the ac cause i just have got done with my swap and haven't got the ac charged and don't wanna run the pump until then.
