coolant line ? & starter question
coolant line ? & starter question
i'm doing a header swap from shorties to long tubes and since i got a bunch of stuff removed i have been noticing some things.
1.) theres a water line that comes from the water pump and also from the radiator, both by the oil filter half of that line is steel and the other half is rubber. do you guy's have part# or a name for that part.?
2.) how many wires should be conected to the starter ? i have one that comes from the battery and another one that looks like a ground. the
weird thing is that theres a little black wire that is conected to nothing is that normal ?

Re: coolant line ? & starter question
the piping is an oil cooler. Two wires go to the starter. One wire goes to the battery and the other wire which is purple goes to the starter . The thin black wire goes to a stud on the metal tray the plug wires are in.
Re: coolant line ? & starter question
so the thin black wire should be connected to ground on a stud correct & what will happen if i leave it disconected ?
for the oil cooler line it has been a b**th to find at a auto parts store so can i cut off part of the steel line where i have A hole and adapt a rubber hose & some hose clamps ? \
thanks

Re: coolant line ? & starter question
Yes you need to connect the ground. Never leave any ground disconnected.
As for the oil cooler I wouldnt modify it. See if you can find a replacement on this site. If not either get it from the dealer or wrecking yard.
The part # for the oil cooler lines are 10243315-hose, engine oil cooler.

Re: coolant line ? & starter question
The black/white wire goes below the #6 plug. It is a ground for the PCM and some engine sensors.
Re: coolant line ? & starter question
shoebox it looks like it, but does it come out close to the harness of the o2 sensor does if so it has always been disconected would that of caused anything ?
n20maro thanks for the part # and info it's highly apreciated.

Re: coolant line ? & starter question
holy sh**t
, i was researching about the engine oil cooler and was reading hundred's of post's that they are worthless (stock unit) , so i decided to bolt mine down and found a bunch a crap on it which could be the answer to my low pressure problem i've had for a while.
i decided i wan't to delete the whole oil cooler so i need help with the process here's what i got down,
1.) diconect oil cooler line
2.) buy a bypass hose
3.) buy bolts p/n 3951644 to mount the oil filter
from there i'm lost can someone help ? i don't want to start another thread. thanks
