coolant light STAYS ON help any1

My coolant light keeps coming on. I checked my radiator fluid and its full. And from the looks of it, the color is orange so I am guessing there is enough Dexi-cool or whatever its called. whats going on?

It's probably nothing more than the coolant temp sensor. Sometimes it gets crusted up and causes that light to come on. Nothing to worry about, unless you're overheating.

I think he means the coolant level sensor, they're two temperature sensors, one for the PCM and one for the guage in your car...

My low coolant light just started coming a few days ago too, even though I've had it disconnected for months

The low coolant sensor is on the top right hand side of the radiator. It is cheap and easy to replace. You get much better access to it if you remove the battery. It is held onto the radiator by a clip which you pull out to remove it. If you disconnect the electrical connector to it, the low coolant light should go out. Some guys just leave it disconnected. I went ahead and replaced mine when it went bad.

You can go to gmpartsdirect.com and search their catalog for the correct part number for your year. I ordered mine from them. They were the cheapest.

Ice,
Check w/ any Chevy dealer; warning-the sensor is not cheap! Replaced mine about 3 weeks ago; didn't keep the box so I don't have the part #. EASY to change as noted above. WILL cure the "light on" thing.
