Coolant light sometimes on??!?
I posted awhile ago about low coolant and my car. It seems like the light doesnt always come on. Sometimes it comes on when I start the car and sometimes it doesnt. I have been working on my car lately, and when I park the car in our heated garage, the light it off when I start it. But when the car has been sitting in the barn (no heat, cold temps outside) the light is on when I start it. Is my sensor craping out?
Also, the car never had a light problem when I put the car away for storage. It seemed to start doing this when I started it up after its been sitting and it got really cold out.

Re: Coolant light sometimes on??!?
This problem happens alot. The sensor if junk. I have replaced 2 sensors on my car. Im thinking that the fluid tends to destroy the sensor and depleat its integrity. I sometimes get the light and sometimes dont, simple thing for me was to unplug the thing. Just monitor the fluid to make sure your not low.

I also had a problem with the low coolant light. Cleaning it helped for a little while, but eventually it went back to coming on periodically. After a few dozen times of making absolutely sure it was false, I too just unplugged it.

Actually there is a cure for this, remove the bulb in the guage cluster... Not trying to be smart alleck, but just watche the fluid in the radiator and you'll be fine. I can't stand sparatic "warning lights" on the dash, especially when they really have no point. Shoot, when you're in there pull the "ABS INOP" light too, cause it'll go one day too, and they guy around here quoted me "1200" to fix it. I'm sure you could probably get a better deal but I'm just bypassing it.
