coolant light.. no coolant leak?

okay when i rebuilt car had a lot of issues with coolant lines and leaks.. finally got them all squared away...

however if im driving on highway for about 25 min or so my low coolant light will come on.. when i get wherever im going ill look under bay and cant find a coolant leak anywhere, and coolant levels arent low at all, and then when i start car up again light is off?

sensor acting up? or could it be bad seal on radiator cap... or something else>

The sensor goes bad all the time, i've replaced mine a few times.

Sometimes it on, sometimes it turns off. I just ignore the damn thing.

Exactly, there is probably a problem with your sensor...Just replace it if keeps coming back and your car is not actually losing any coolant...

just unplug it!! It is a little grey sensor that plugs in to the back of the radiator by the battery.

People had been driving without low coolant lights for a long long time before auto makers started putting them in their cars. As long as you check your fluid levels periodically I dont think unplugging the sensor poses much of a risk at all. In a worst case scenario, say the coolant dumps while your driving, hopefully you would notice the temperature guage go through the roof.
