Today in the morning i was driving to work and all of a sudden smoke started to come out from under my hood. I knew it was a hose that busted so i drove to work looked under the hood and sure enough it was the top heater hose that comes from the firewall to a metal like conector. The hose is like 5 or 6 inches long. I was wondering if i can just cut the hose and just get the same length hose and just replace it or do i need to replace the whooole thing? I also noticed my lower heater hose rubbing up against the fan belt can i do the same with that one or replace the whole thing also?

Please help
