coolant leak

So i just finished installing my heads and i have coolant going right into the oil pan!! I did some port work on the heads and had them milled .020. I used impala head gaskets and i did use sealant on the head bolts. All surfaces were cleaned up and everything went together good. or atleast i thought. Also before i realized what was going on i fired the engine up and let it run for a couple of minutes and it did not leak anything externally. I figured out what was happening when i saw what the oil looked like coming out of the push rods. Coolant drains into the oil pan without the motor even runnning. What do you guys think?? Head gasket f'ed up or maybe something else??

I'm thinking the head bolts didn't seal - what did you use on them?

No....no.....no......

You need something like this.....

http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...ad_Sealant.htm

I have read through many threads in which people are using permatex No. 2 for head bolts......I think that is wrong. You need thread sealant....permatex No. 2 is NOT thread sealant....it's gasket compound.

I've used the above on my temperature sensors and oil plugs with no problems. I'm about to use it on my water pump bolts. However I had to order the 50mL tubes....got tired of being nickeled and dimed by the autoparts stores with the 6mL tube.

Be sure to get the HIGH Temperature....not high performance....the high temperature can withstand 100* higher temperatures.

If a head bolt is leaking dont they normally leak coolant outside the motor as well?

Maybe on the lower bolts that are exposed
you might see coolant I suppose.

Regardless, you gotta go with the
thread sealant.
