coolant leak?????

hey guys, i've already done a search and did not come up with much,

so here goes, i have a "leak" coming from the area of the coolant reservoir, and my low coolant light keeps coming on even though the reservoir is full and the radiator.

so it seemed that the bottle was leaking from the grommet, that holds the metal tube and hose that runs to the radiator cap. I went ahead and replaced the grommet, tube/hose, reservoir bottle and the radiator cap just for good measures.

i filled the bottle up with brand new dex-cool, and first time i drove it had some overflow......well now my damn low coolant light is coming on again! and the coolant is staying at a higher level than before.

i read about a sensor that can go bad....might it be that, or is there another place a leak could be happening. i'm positive it's coming from the area around and under the reservoir and so far the current "leak" seems to be from overflow.

if it might be the sensor where is it located??

thanks,
G

Re: coolant leak?????

its prolly the sensor. its on the rad, passenger side i think. just unplug it. if your car over heats then you know you have a leak, LOL. if it doesnt then its just the sensor.

Re: coolant leak?????

alright i unplugged the sensor, so i guess we will see what happens, it just does not make sense for the resevoir and radiator to be full, and the light to come on, so hopefully this will solve my problem
